Tasting- Jam Jar, Sweet White 2015

Name: Jam Jar
Variety: Sweet WhiteRegion: Western CapeCountry: South Africa
Year: 2015Price: $7.95

Winery Review: "This charming, easy-drinking Moscato offers flavors of peach, apricot, lychee and orange blossom. A lively jolt of acidity keeps it fresh and fruity. Fancy enough for a special occasion toast, yet sweet-natured enough to enjoy every day, this bright and cheerful white wine is sure to capture your heart." --Jam Jar

My Personal Review: A light sweet white wine with fruity flavors. I picked up hints of acidity coming from a fruity flavor, such as a lemon. This is a wine I would imagine people would drink on its own for its easy to drink, sweet taste.

I tasted this wine on its own without food.

Tasting- Fox Creek, Shiraz 2012

Name: Fox Creek
Variety: Shiraz
Region: McLaren ValeCountry: Australia
Year: 2012
Price: $9.95
Winery Review: "Aromas of chocolate cherries and cream interwoven with nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves. Rich front palate of mulberry, plums and black cherries lead into the creamy, vanilla mid palate which is complemented by hints of toast and dark chocolate. The youthful tannins complete the vibrant experience with an injection of fresh toasty oak on the finish." --Wine.com

My Personal Review: A rich red wine with hits of dark berries. Earthy and Woody tones were picked up possibly from the barrel. Would think dark chocolate would bring the berry tones out more. This is a full-bodied wine thats taste lingers for a while on the tongue.

I tasted this wine on its own without food.

Tasting- Candoni, Buongiorno

Name: Candoni
Variety: Organic Primitivo (66%) , Syrah (34%)Region: PugliaCountry: Italy
Year: No VintagePrice: $7.95

Winery Review:
"Brilliant violet color. Bright, fresh, fruity aromas and flavors of black raspberries, vanilla mint cookie, delicate spices, and paved road with a silky, crisp, fruity light-to-medium body and a brisk pomegranate, cedar bark, and limestone finish with coating, firm tannins and moderate oak. A firm, juicy beef wine." -- Tasting.com

My Personal Review: A dark flavorful wine with notes of plum and cinnamon. A juicy taste with a medium body, not harsh on the tastebuds. The aroma was subtle. This was my favorite wine from the wine tasting! I would like to try this wine again with a dinner.

I tasted this wine on its own with no food.

Tasting- Maipe, Torrontés 2016

Name: MaipeVariety: TorrontesRegion: SaltaCountry:  ArgentinaYear: 2016Price: $7.96

Winery Review: "Spring-like nose of fresh white peaches, pears, green apple, green melon and hints of jasmine and rose petals. On the palate, it has a beautiful structure and acidity along with fruit flavors and plenty of body. Well-balanced, this wine displays a pleasant freshness with citrus notes and a long finish.
Best enjoyed in its youth either by itself, or as a wonderful partner with smoked meats, mild to medium-strong cheeses, seafood and a great partner for spicy food as well." --Wine.com

My Personal Review: A floral wine with hints of lilac and pear. This wine had a sharp acidic taste that lingered on the tongue after drinking. For an acidic drink I found this to be quite good but enjoyed the aroma much more than the lingering taste!

I tasted this wine on its own without food.

Tasting-Oxford Landing, Viognier 2014

Name: Oxford Landing
Variety: Viognier
Region: South Australia
Country: Australia
Year: 2014
Price: $8.95

Winery Review: "A fresh and zesty Viognier that shows the classic flavors and aromas of white flowers, some musk and stone fruit. The first Viognier was planted at Oxford Landing in 1993, and the wines made from the fruit these vines produce just keep getting better and better." --Wine. com

"This wine may not be quite as rich or expressive as the other Viogniers in the Yalumba stable, but it's still an attractive effort. Pineapple and apricot flavors pick up hints of gingery spice on the vibrant finish." --Wine Enthusiast

My Personal Review: This wine had a strong floral aroma and taste. I did not find this wine to be as sweet as other white wines rather leaning more towards the dry side. Found the aroma to be a little overwhelming for my taste.

I tasted this on its own with no food.
